Our Approach to AI at Notes from the Soil
AI is becoming a part of everyday life, and like many others, we use it here at Notes from the Soil. Because its role in content creation is still new and the ethics around it continue to evolve, we believe it’s important to be transparent about how we use AI—and just as importantly, how we don’t.
How We Use AI in Our Content
AI is a helpful tool for us, but it is never a replacement for human experience or creativity. Every piece of content starts and ends with a real person. Our writers bring their ideas, experiences, and knowledge to the table, and AI is only used as a support tool—helping to clarify wording or refine structure.
Afterward, every article is carefully reviewed and edited by our team to ensure accuracy, clarity, and authenticity. Our goal is always to make sure the final piece reflects the voice and intention of the author, not the AI.
About Our Images
You may notice that many of the images on our site are AI-generated. Whenever that’s the case, we label them with (AI modified) in the caption.
These images are not meant to represent real events, objects, or places. Instead, they serve as inspiration images—visuals designed to spark creativity and help you imagine how an idea might look in the real world. We take care to ensure they are realistic enough to be recreated safely at home, while still allowing our authors’ imaginations to shine.
We choose AI images in cases where our authors’ ideas are difficult to photograph or not physically possible for us to create at that moment. In these situations, AI allows us to illustrate their vision more directly—because, as the saying goes, a picture is worth a thousand words.
The Human Element Matters Most
What matters most is that every idea on this site comes from our authors. Whether or not they’ve built or grown something themselves yet, they always ensure that the projects, recipes, or ideas we share can be recreated by you safely and practically.
That’s why we love hearing from you. If something you’ve seen here inspired you to try it in real life, let us know—especially if you’d like to share real photos of your creation. It’s feedback like this that helps us grow and reminds us why we share our work.
Thank you for being part of this journey with us.
Happy gardening, cooking, and creating!
